The Photographs in a Shoebox podcast with professional portrait photographer Sue Kennedy is all about helping and inspiring people to tell their family’s story in pictures, based in Harlow, Essex Sue specialises in baby, child and family portraiture. Being a parent, she understands just how special your child is to you, and her aim is to produce a collection of images that are natural and meaningful to your family. No two moments are ever the same and she wants to perfectly capture those early precious memories and the natural character of your child.

As soon as Sue invited me to be a guest on her podcast I knew exactly which photo I wanted to speak about… It’s a photograph of my dad and we think he’s about ten or eleven years old, and he had entered a fancy dress competition for the Scouts, we think. He has turned his bicycle into an airplane so the photograph is him riding his bike-airplane along the road to the competition.

It shows just what a character he is, and explains exactly where I get my eccentricity from!
